David J Schlactus, D.M.D.
Dentist
Dr. David Schlactus graduated Summa Cum Laude and was first in his class at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, located on the upper east side of Manhattan, before entering private practice.
After five years of living in New York, he and his wife Stacy decided to move to Montgomery County, where Stacy grew up, to start and raise a family. In 2000, Dr. Schlactus purchased his current practice and has maintained and grown this thriving general dental practice created by his predecessors. Since then, he has focused on preventative care and patient education.
Dr. Schlactus continually pursues and perfects his special interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He loves having a true family practice, seeing many families across multiple generations. He has been recognized by his peers as one of the Washingtonian Magazine best dentists in the area for the past 13 years and was recently named to Washingtonian’s Top Dentist Hall of Fame. His patients and members of the community have honored Dr. Schlactus among the Bethesda Magazine “Best of the Best” since 2011. Dr. Schlactus has also been featured in the Washington Jewish Weekly as a Best Local Dentist for 2022 and 2023.
Dr. Schlactus is an active member of the American Dental Association, The Maryland Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honors Society and the Alpha Omega dental fraternity, where he served two terms as president. He is the proud parent of four wonderful children and together with his loving wife Stacy is very involved in the local Jewish community. When Dr. Schlactus is not working hard at his practice, he is an avid golfer, skier and tennis player.
Dr. Steven Hoffer, D.M.D.
Dentist
Dr. Steven Hoffer is a graduate of the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Originally from New Jersey, he earned his bachelor’s degree at McGill University in Montreal. After several years in media and journalism, he enrolled in the Postbac Premed program at Columbia University where he made the Dean’s List in his final year.
Following dental school, Dr. Hoffer continued his training at the rigorous general practice residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Hoffer strives to strike a balance between aesthetics and function across all aspects of dentistry.
He is excited to work with patients to achieve impressive results that meet their specific dental needs. When he’s not practicing dentistry, Dr. Hoffer enjoys spending time with his wife, Jillian, and son, Judah, as well as exploring the restaurants and music venues that the DC area has to offer.
Dr. Rustin Levy, D.M.D.
Dentist
Dr. Rustin Levy is a graduate of Tulane University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received his certificate in Periodontics and Masters of Medical Sciences in Oral Biology at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He is Board Certified in Periodontics and is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Levy and his wife, Leslie, enjoy road trips to beach destinations. They are the proud parents of Spencer and Jocelyn. Dr. Levy has been working with Dr. Schlactus since 2015.
Krisi
Dental Hygienist
Krisi is a native of the Washington D.C. area. Krisi graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Dental Hygiene in 1992 from the Community College of Baltimore. She has served on the Board of Masters of the Student American Dental Hygienist Association, the Montgomery County Dental Hygienists Association and was on the Board of Trustees for the Montgomery County Volunteer Dental Clinic.
Krisi has volunteered many hours for the American Red Cross as a CPR instructor for health care providers. She joined the practice in 1994. Loved by her patients, Krisi provides preventative hygiene services to aid them in maintaining optimal oral health. Krisi is wonderful with patients of all ages and varying needs.
Ellen
Dental Hygienist
Ellen earned her degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1988 in the Philippines where she grew up. She then migrated to the United States to join the rest of her family.
Once Ellen moved to the U.S., she worked as a dental assistant for practices in Alexandria, Virginia while she pursued her Dental Hygiene degree at Allegany College of Maryland. Ellen joined the practice in 2013 as a full time Dental Hygienist and feels thankful and privileged to be part of a wonderful dental team.
Ellen has participated in several dental mission projects in the Philippines, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Ellen lives near Frederick, Maryland with her husband Barry. Ellen has helped raise five step children and loves spending time with friends, family and grandchildren.
Cindy
Financial and Office Manager
Cindy brings over 40 years of administrative experience in Office Management, Human Resources and Accounting. Thirty of those years have been spent with our practice. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures and manages and oversees the administration policies.
She has extensive experience in treatment planning and financial arrangements and is equipped to help you to best utilize your insurance benefits to attain the smile you deserve.
Cindy has taken and continues to take numerous courses to help better service you in health care management. Cindy is our team leader and can answer almost any question regarding our practice or dentistry in general.
Freddy
Administrative Assistant
Freddy was born and raised in Guatemala, where he lived until the age of 12. Freddy lived in Naples, Florida for a few years before moving to Maryland. Freddy has worked in the dental field for the last 10 years and enjoys coming to work every day. The best part of his day is when he sees a familiar face come into the office and hears “Hey Freddy, how are you!” or gets a wave or an elbow bump. His heart is always warmed by those moments.
In his spare time, Freddy likes to relax by spending time with his family. Freddy and his wife Sindy have two sons, Matthew and Jeremy, and a pet named Ponky. Freddy looks forward to meeting all of you and seeing your smiling faces. He is very approachable, open-minded and always open to a great conversation.
Allie
Administrative Assistant
When you walk into our office, Allie will welcome you with a warm smile. Allie has a passion for taking the time to get to know all of our patients. With 7 years of dental experience, she is happy to assist you with scheduling, insurance and making sure you receive quality attention and service. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring Maryland’s recreational activities and restaurants with her family and friends.
Maritza
Dental Assistant
Maritza began her career as a dental assistant over 20 years ago. She loves getting to know her patients and building long term relations while understanding their stories. Maritza has a passion for volunteering and gives back to the community, helping to educate patients and meet their dental needs.
Maritza is x-ray and CPR certified. She is also bilingual and translates when needed in the Hispanic community. Maritza enjoys walking and hiking with family and friends.
